This kid got some pretty great presents this year, but clearly they don’t compare to the play telephone from 1979 and vintage Fisher Price helicopter at Grandma and Grandpa’s house 💕
Bounty
I really love putting the garden to bed for the winter: remembering the bounty, the warm humid days long passed, the delight of the first sprouts and flowers at the beginning of the summer. The passing of the seasons is a sacred time of reflection, being present in the best of each season, and looking ahead to the changes still to come. I love it when I am fortunate enough to slow down and savor it. So it was with great delight that I was able to uncover the last of our bounty in these tiny gems. Into the pot you go for carrot ginger soup! ❤️ 🍲 🥕

Spies
I am home solo for a few days as I finish up training for the tri,, but also to have some space and time to tackle some house projects. I’ve been in the basement grumbling under my breath as I find thing after thing that has been “lost†(“I don’t know where it is, Mom! I’ve looked EVERYWHERE!â€), and then I came across this:
I remember the day they were doing this (their stealth is seriously lacking) however this made me smile and laugh, and really? They’re pretty great. Even when they are constantly losing stuff.
Birthday Pizza
Pizza night on the back porch, celebrating daddy’s birthday, is the best night ❤️ Oliver’s favorite is “shuuuto†(prosciutto)

Mister Flu
The flu has really laid me out, and I’ve mostly been in bed since Sunday afternoon. Griffin and Maggie just delivered a box full of get well wishes, and it totally made my week. I’ve got a pretty great family ❤️
Appendix
Not exactly how we planned to spend our Thursday, but G is now appendix-less and is recovering semi-comfortably. Thankful for trusting my (also appendix-less) gut, fantastic staff at Children’s Hospital, parents and friends who help take care of our other two kids, and overall health, all things considered. The staff here have been raving about how fantastic this kid is, and I couldn’t agree more wholeheartedly. Looking forward to getting home! ❤️
